Step #2 Preparing

If step #1 was stepping out in faith, step #2 must be preparing for the journey.

Any of you who have been abroad on m!ssions, will understand what I mean when I say that no matter how much you PLAN, virtually nothing will work out that way once you are there. So, the questions becomes how do we prepare? Do we simply go, jump in with both feet and hope for the best? Well, I've tried that, and let me tell you, after about day 2 your energy, emotions, and spirit are dead with exhaustion. So the other option, planning, organizing, and executing those plans to perfection in order to achieve optimum results? Yeah, that will fail you as well, frustration, even anger at things not working "right" will destroy your opportunities. So what's left? The radical middle. So we pray, we plan, we wait, we listen, we learn, we watch for opportunities and we jump on them, we rely on Him and not ourselves, and we take each day, each breath, as a new opportunity, not as a calculated step.

That at least is our goal for this trip - to be, to live in the moment of what our F@ther places before us. We have told our contacts when we are coming and to use us however they see fit after pr@ying about it. We have also "planned" to have time to simply get to know the people of the city, to sit and talk, and pr@y with them, to truly build relationship and find out these people's stories. To not just share a rehearsed message but to share hearts, to share lives, and in that to share what Chr!st has done in us, giving us life, life abundant, and life eternal, life that draws us, empowers us, and drives us to travel half way around the world to simply hug a child and tell them about the G0d who LOVES them.

That is our message, that is our purpose and that is our goal. So please, please partner with us, please lift us up, and support this journey. Please seek how G0d would use you to empower this m!ssion. For the next 8 weeks we will be in prayer, in the W0rd, serving those around us here while we prepare to serve half way around the world.

This is certianly not something we can do in our own power, but we recognize that we could not survive a day, an hour, or a second but by the grace of G0d. So we trust in His power, His providing hands, and His Sp!rit to lead us forward and walk us through this journey.

Special thanks to the few who supported us fiancially, every dollar given makes it that much easier to go and serve. We praise God for you and thank you for your support and love.
