Dear Friends,
Peace and Joy from our Heavenly Father, in whom all things are made new!
You cannot imagine the excitement we have as we write this letter to you! After two long years of waiting, God has yet again opened wide the opportunity to return to the place our hearts call “home” – to jump through doors opened wide by our loving Creator to love the unlovable, touch the untouchable, and rejoice as the Spirit moves hearts and transforms lives!
It is our JOY to work in South Asia, to see lives go from broken to beautiful, from empty to overflowing. In the past, trips have focused on clinics, sports camps, VBS, and many other projects – this trip is a bit different. Instead of having a team of 5-10 people, God has so far only called Sean and I on this journey. We are excited and enthralled to see why! We are looking forward to partnering with our native contacts as always, enjoying time of sweet fellowship and encouragement of the saints there, as well as working with the children in the school as we year by year watch them grow in Spirit and in Truth.! But unlike other years we do not have a set plan; instead, we seek to obey direction daily while we are there, watching for the opportunities He presents and speaking to those He leads us to. This should be a wonderful journey as we will not be limited by time constraints, but will instead have the freedom to simply “be” hands and feet.
Another new aspect of this trip is that instead of the 4 days we are usually able to actually be in the city, this trip will allow us a full 8 to 9 days with the people of this broken and hurting city. While there we know we will encounter things we have seen before, children starving, thousands of people sleeping on the highway at night, dirt and decay everywhere, broken and hungry souls thirsty for Truth and Hope. But though the picture may look dreary we REJOICE because we know the POWER and PERFECTION that is the love of Chr!st! He is the One who held the children in His arms, who healed the sick, who raised the dead, who turned the world upside down with His love – and He said “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these” (John 14:12). PRAISE THE LORD! What crazy amazing things He is able to do through us if we are only willing and faithful!
Since getting married in June of 2009 we have been saving our nickels and dimes and so are prepared to almost fully pay our way – we rejoice in our Father's provision as we daily seek to honor Him with our everything! We also thank those that gave gifts last year to start our funding for this trip. That being said we would like to ask for your prayers and for you to consider a donation, no matter how small, to the work being done here. We know our Father is over ALL and will provide the way as we follow in His footsteps, but we firmly believe that He has offered us, as the Church, the opportunity to join together in each other’s ministries and also share in the blessings of the outcome of these ministries!!
Thank you for your prayers and partnership in sharing the Good News We look forward to sharing with you the stories of how mourning changed into laughter, hopelessness into profound peace and joy, and death into life. Please let us know if you need any other information. We love you all, blessings and peace from the One who Saves!
With abundant love,
The Carrolls
