GO!

When Jesus said "GO!", what exactly did He mean?

Are we to go, in our own time? In our comfort? In our strength? To go, where? When? How? To Whom?

When I think about going out for G0d. Words from Scr!pture come to mind like Perserverence, Running the race, Picking up your cross. I think of stories like that of the poor widow who gave all she had, and of the rich man who could not bring himself to give it all up for G0d. I think of the teachings of Jesus, about taking nothing with us for the journey, and of loving our neighbors, and also of how if someone asks for your coat you give him your shirt to. These things I remember come as a jumble of stories and words and thoughts but there is one thing that rings true among them all - THIS IS NOT normal.

Our every instinct, every gut desire, every piece of us that is not Sp!rit begs us to turn the other way and run from these teachings because they are fully and completely uncomfortable.

The more Sean and I prepare for this journey the more G0d is teaching me that uncomfortable is where we need to begin to grow comfortable. We need to become accustomed to being outside ourselves, being outside the norm, and being beyond ourselves because it is in that place that we will see G0d take over our desires and use us in unimaginable ways.

This I delight in! The idea that I would be used beyond my imagination, that I would truly become like Chr!st - not just in desire but in action! Since this became my prayer, the process has certainly begun, and it hurts. As one of Sean's favorite author's and misisonaries Shane Claiborne says "My life was pretty together, then I met Jesus & that messed everything up". Haha! Not in a bad way, simply that it has become quite obvious that my flesh and sp!rit are much at war with one another.

As I push through this process of dividing the very bone from marrow, I seek G0d and am asking only that He would listen to my heart's desire to be like Him and would ignore every other plea. This is not an easy place to be, and I sincerely covet your prayers for us as we take baby step combined with leaps and bounds into being transformed into the image of Chr!st.

Some of our current struggles lie with allocating time and finances. If you would please please lift up those two areas of our life we would so appreciate it as once we know it is covered in prayer we have the delightful freedom to give over control and simply BE and watch G0d work through our obedience.

Pray also for housing - both for while we are abroad that G0d would show us where to stay / with whom. And also for housing back here in the states as our lease is soon up and we have no idea where we will be living the week we return from India, or how a security deposit will be paid.

We delight in you, beloved, continue to hold on to that which you KNOW, the hope of your calling, the joy of your Salvation, and the precious Lord that is our S@vior and K!ng!

Blessings and power from Him who is above all, over all, and PTL willing to work through all!

Love you all!
